People's Republic of Coffee最爱非洲面包 12 agosto Coffe cola life stuffJust done the exam.. and feeling lost now.. used to squeeze every bit of my time to study... now what.. and I hv completed Harry Potter as well..... what now??
100-thing challenge .. really a challenge in this stuff-dominant world.. and esp. in a material world in HK..
That thing we were born to do.... only if I know what is "it".. cos I have "them" and dunno which one is "it"...
Got this Cola Blak from my ex-colleague.. the can is so handsome.. thanks Keith.. 01 junio Slow.. but sure death of IT industry in HKThere is a dramatic change in the company I work in. I work in a HK based company that creates software for a swiss bank.
Now the swiss bankers are fed up with this small company, so they sought for another vendor and move everyone in the company accross.
The vendor is a Chinese outsourcing company. (yes.. i hate to say but .. it hurts my ego.. ) Long term (1-2 yr) goal, of course, is to use more "cost-effective" resources to replace us...
It was annouced recently. The outsourcing company is one of the biggest in mainland. Still, work for an outsourcing company in China.. I'm not sure..
The C*O (laterally all the CFO, CEO, COO, whatever-Os) came to host a meeting w/ us to comfort us. He was trying to sell his company to us so we'll stay. He mentioned that the company is doubling its size every year. It sounds very much like mainland analyst claiming that 50-60 PE ratio in chinese stock is normal bcos of the growth rate of the companies. He also has keen belief that software, like household products, can be produced in a software factory. If you are a software engineer, what do you think when your management thinks that you are more or less similar to a factory worker. Afterall, it's not quality or the people counts, it is the bloody taste of dollars...
Small IT companies (even the bigger IT companies in HK are still small, comparatively) will be gradually eaten up by these bigger and more hungry outsourcing companies. It can be one from China, from India, from Vietnam or even from Bangladesh when China and India becomes expensive. The world is flat.
Time to think really what's next for myself... 13 mayo Broken racquetThe game is so intense today (with our Majestic Dolmen "see fu") that I broke my racquet.. my first in my humble badminton life. The racquet is quite new.. less than 1 yr old.. too bad
